Breaking Down Barriers

Many young people moving from care to independent living have very poor outcomes characterised by housing instability, recurring/long-term unemployment, substance misuse, poverty, poor physical & mental health, feelings of confusion/rejection, involvement in crime & early parenthood. Many have multiple developmental delays caused by repeated trauma, dislocation & disrupted attachment. We are piloting a 3 Year Leaving Care support program in the disadvantaged North & West Region of Melbourne.
