MacKillop Family Services

This project will ensure young Aboriginal people in MacKillop’s residential care have opportunities to form positive connections to their traditional community and identify with family, community and culture.

Aboriginal Australia is made up of diverse clans, languages and country boundaries, each with unique stories, histories, and cultural patterns. MacKillop’s Victorian residential homes are located across lands of the Kulin nation with young people often placed outside their traditional country. This project will connect them to the country to which they belong. A collaborative process with Aboriginal agencies ensures connections to culture and community are meaningful and build capacity for future connections.
